It's been said that in space, no one can hear you scream. When you're a movie podcast, not being heard sound like torture. Luckily, you're (probably, because you never know) not in space right now - which means you're lucky enough to get to hear Dave, Chris, and Mikey kick-off another year of SPOOKY SEASON as they take on the 1979 Ridley Scott sci-fi horror classic, Alien. And yes, this is the first time the boys have done the sequel to a movie before doing the original... SUBSCRIBE: Apple | Spotify | Castbox | RedCircle | Pocket Casts

It's always good when a movie about fine movies does one of the finest films of all time. Yes, Chris, David and Mikey are back and all in agreement that the 1982 Steven Spielberg classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial lives up to the "classic" description and is still as relevant and beloved as ever. Does that mean Dave took it so seriously that he stayed home to record? Well, let's not go too far. SUBSCRIBE: Apple | Spotify | Castbox | RedCircle | Pocket Casts

The boys are back to talk about a comedic duo that is fairly new to all of them, Nirvanna the Band! Chris brought this one to the show, but now he, Mikey and Dave are obsessed with 2025 time-traveling mockumentary, Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie, and the television series that preceded it. It truly has taken up the majority of their text chain. And for good reason. Both the movie and the show are on Hulu right now and it probably doesn't even matter which order you watch them in. Either way - it's fantastic. So stop sneaking around and go check it out - and then listen to these guys gush over this surprising little Canadian masterpiece. Is it safe? Is it safe for Chris, Mikey and Dave to finally be back with a new episode of Fine Movies, Fine Spirits? Today, the men are discussing the 1976 Dustin Hoffman classic, Marathon Man! For the first time in a while, the gents don't all agree on the movie. Listen now to find out which one of these hosts, who may or may not be typing these words, didn't love it! On this very day, 40 years ago, the cinematic world was forever changed when One Crazy Summer premiered to the universe. And while it may not have found a huge audience in it's run in the theaters, this movie really found its footing on cable television and has gone on to be a comedic cult classic. And today, the fine men at Fine Movies, Fine Spirits are here discussing it - but for a film of this calibur, Chris, Dave, and Mikey couldn't do it alone. Chris called in a favor and brought his friend Shawn, a life long superfan of this movie, to join the show! SUBSCRIBE: Apple | Spotify | Castbox | RedCircle | Pocket Casts

If you can't spot the podcast fan in your first half hour of listening to this episode, then you ARE the podcast fan. Chris, Dave and Mikey are back to sit down at the table and play a few hands (well Dave's hands were full with food while we recorded, but hopefully Mikey edited most of that out) as the boys are talking the Matt Damon, Edward Norton 90's favorite, Rounders. Tell me something, listener? Is it hard keeping your emotions in check once you realize that Chris, Dave and Mikey are back to talk about another great movie!? Yes today Chris and Dave talk about a movie they've seen before (even if Dave wasn't all that thrilled to revisit it) and Mikey talks about a movie he is seeing for the first time (even though his wife played the soundtrack so much he felt like kind've had!) Yes today the boys are talking about the 2018 Bradley Cooper/Lady Gaga ode to love, music, and heartbreak, A Star Is Born. Oooh, and it's alright and it's comin' on! We gotta get right back to where we started from! Yes, Chris, David, and Mikey gotta get right back to talking movies! Another we recorded quite a while ago, but lazy Mikey took forever to finally get it out to you! But you know what - it's worth it to hear us laugh our asses off over the 1977 comedic classic, Slap Shot, starring the great Paul Newman! And as usual, Chris does the plot. Mikey does the editing. And Dave? DAVE'S A KILLER! (Dave's a mess.) And did you notice our new logo?

The horror. The horror! The horror of David's audio in this episode is beyond compare (so apologies in advance). As Chris and Mikey respectfully are in their home offices, David took it upon himself to attempt to participate straight from Bar25 NBPT in Newburyport, MA. The legend is that the bar took that name based on the maximum age of the females Grandpa David creepily tries to meet their on a much-too-frequent basis. Actually, don't blame the bar - it's a nice place. It's their clientele that bother me. Well one customer specifically...Mikey did his best to filter out the noise, and he and Chris did their best to talk about the 1979 Francis Ford Coppola Vietnam War classic, Apocalypse Now. David...Well he had a good drink that night at least. Mikey wrote this and wants to remind you to not feel bad about those awful(ly true) comments because there is a zero percent chance Dave will ever see this.

This podcast first covered a Paul Thomas Anderson film back in September 2024. It took us over a year and a half to go back to PTA for a second time. It's taken us only a month (and one day) to go back to him for a third time as Mikey, Chris and Dave discuss the 2025 Academy Award winner for Best Picture, One Battle After Another. But we didn't need to call in a Grey Hawk 10 - because we didn't have to deal with Comrade Josh. Instead we got to call in Christopher's oldest brother, Comrade Jon who is returning to the show for the first time in almost three years! So sit back, have a few small beers, and enjoy the show...

Yo homie, do you like podcasts? You must, since you're here right now reading these words! And that works out because Chris, Dave and Mikey are back again covering another Michael Mann movie where guns are a plenty. Yes, the boys are talking the 2004 Tom Cruise, Jamie Foxx romantic comedy Collateral. You have to wonder, Mikey just called this movie a romantic comedy - think anybody will notice?

Howdy, folks. Mikey here. I have a question for you. What don't you want? You're here for a podcast talking about movies, so either you don't want Dave to not podcast while people are in the room - or you don't what Chris to not not be surprised when Dave never hears of a movie. I think I got that double and triple negative right. So podcast listener, what don't you want? You don't want to hear us NOT talk about the 2016 modern western, Hell or High Water. I think. Shit, I don't know - just listen...

Ladies and gentlemen… We've taken a few weeks since our last episode to be here tonight. We couldn't get away sooner because Mikey edits the podcasts and he's not one of those podcasters you're who'll rush the pod through so he can get another to you just as quick as he can. This is… the way that this works. But finally, Mikey finished the job and is here with Chris and Dave to discuss the 2007 Paul Thomas Anderson modern classic, There Will Be Blood. But they are not alone this episode - because there in fact is a FOURTH Revelation! Yes Chris' baby brother Greg returns to the show for the first time this year - but you're going to have to listen to find out whether or not he is the chosen brother...

Spring has sprung and with it finally a brand new episode of Fine Movies. Fine Spirits! Today, Chris and Mikey are joined by Dave and whoever else is within arms reach of Dave in his living room as the boys discuss the Eddie Murphy classic, Beverly Hills Cop.

Sometimes it's known as "Léon: The Professional," sometimes "The Professional" and sometimes just "Léon" - but whatever you call it - and I think we call it all of the above - today Mikey, Dave and Chris are back to talk about this 1994 Luc Besson action thriller. But don't worry, we don't ignore that Luc Besson might be a bit of (or more than a bit of) a creep...

If you're blue, and did not know that a podcast about movies could be so fine...talking Young Frankenstein. We sure hope you sang that correctly. But either way - as long as you listen to Mikey, Chris and Dave discuss this 1974 Mel Brooks classic, in our book you're...Super duper.

If you wanna go quickly, do it alone. But if ya wanna go far, you do it - together. And today, Mikey, Dave, and Chris are together to discuss the frantic Adam Sandler starring crime/drama, Uncut Gems. But just how Sandler's character can never settle - this movie could not settle and live with just three hosts as we are joined by another Dave who is a long time listener and friend of the show! Yes you heard that right - you get double the Dave! Double the Dave? Maybe we should have done Jack & Jill?

Can we still say, "Happy New Year?" I mean it is the first time Chris, Mikey and Dave are here in 2026 so we think it still applies. And we are indeed happy to be back and talking about a movie that turns forty years old this year! A movie that celebrates friendship, childhood, while we also take time to celebrate the late, great Rob Reiner - as today we discuss his classic Stephen King adaptation, Stand By Me.

Merry Christmas, movie fans! Chris, Dave and Mikey are back one last time this year! One last time this Christmas! And...one last time talking about the movie that started it all for this podcast? So finish up opening the presents, talk to the family members and get that over with. The football games stink today - so after you do all that required stuff - you can sit back and listen another wonderful podcast...

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! The Fine Christmas season has one more Christmas film to discuss as Dave, Chris, and Mikey get together around the fire to discuss this true holiday classic, Miracle on 34th Street. You'll believe in Santa too after this one...Merry Christmas!

The Fine Christmas season rolls on as Mikey, Dave, and Chris go back to 2019 to talk about their second ever animated movie - the absolute masterpiece, Klaus. And get ready - because Dave took notes...And it goes just as you'd expect it would!

It's time to kick-off the Christmas season as Dave, Chris and Mikey go back to the magical decade of the 1980s to reminisce about the holidays, friends, family - and video games - as the boys talk about what they all think could and should be considered a modern classic, the 2021 HBO Max original film, 8-Bit Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! David, Chris and Mikey are back this Thanksgiving morning to return to a movie they first discussed four years ago to the day that they recorded this episode! Yes today as you spend time with your family, turn off the football game and turn on your podcast app as the boys revisit the 1987 John Hughes classic, "Planes, Trains & Automobiles!" It truly is the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year...

Forget the myths the media's created about the this podcast. The truth is, these are not very bright guys, but they do love movies - and today Chris, Mikey and Dave are paying tribute to late great Robert Redford as they discuss the 1976 classic, All the President's Men - starring Redford and Dustin Hoffman. And as you probably already guessed - Dave wins at liking this movie more than the other guys. He really is the best at that sort of thing - whatever that sort of thing is...

Happy Halloween! On this the last day of October, Chris, Mikey and Dave close out Spooky Season with a big one as we discuss the 2025 Zach Cregger horror film, Weapons! This is our second Cregger movie, and while it's a good bet we'll be talking about his movies for many more years, please remember one thing...Don't cross the salt line.

Here is wisdom. Let him (or her) that hath understanding count another episode of this podcast; for it is a Spooky Season episode; and the episode is on the 197666 horror classic, The Omen! And as week begin the final week of the season and the final week of October - fear not. We will be back before All Hallow's Eve comes to an end...It's all for you!

Here, kitty kitty! Spooky Season rolls on as today Chris, Mikey & Dave hide their eyes while talking about the 2023 thriller/suspense/horror(?) film, Strange Darling! While there is a discussion about whether or not the movie could be classified as horror, you can damn well bet that if what happened in this movie happened to you - you'd be pretty horrified!

It's official! Spooky Season is here! Today on this 13th day of October, Chris, Mikey & Dave try to appease the ancient gods as we offer up to them (and you) are thoughts on the 2011 horror/comedy The Cabin in The Woods! And when you're done listening to this, go check out Chris' Halloween Playlist on Spotify. But ONLY after you're done listening to this.

Thirty-six years ago today Donnie Darko saved the world. At least that's what some of us figured out. A few of us need to watch this movie again. And again. And then again. Dave was the newbie this time around, and while Mikey has seen it before, he definitely did not pick up on things that Chris mentioned - and thankfully Chris' brother Greg returned to the show to be the Darko expert! How did it feel talking about this cult classic? It felt wonderful.

Fall is in the air! And as we are well into September, kids have summer in the rearview mirror as they're well into the new school year - and what better way to celebrate the return to school than with one of the quintessential teen movies of our childhood? Join Dave, Chris and Mikey as we sit in a circle in the library during Saturday detention and talk about the 1985 John Hughes high school classic, The Breakfast Club.

The craft of bowling has never been taken more seriously than in the latest fine movie that Chris, Mikey and Dave are talking about in this episode as they cover the 1996 Farrelly Brothers comedy classic, Kingpin. And get this - Kingpin is the 100th Fine Movie the boys talk about and they completely forgot to mention it when recording it. They were probably too distracted by the fact that Dave was outside in the streets of Newburyport, Massachusetts recording amongst the public. Something Mike did his best to edit around. We're nothing if not professionals.

If you happen to be sitting in the uncomfortable seat on a train or airplane right now - and maybe you have a clown to the left of you, and a joker to the right - please know that we feel your pain and we will be here - stuck in the middle with you - for an entire podcast episode. That joke felt okay when Mikey wrote it, but now he's not so sure. Either way, he's too lazy to go back and change it, so you really are stuck with it. But don't worry - you're going to be okaaaay! Because Mikey's back with Chris and Dave talking more Quentin Tarantino! Today we go all the way back to the beginning as go back to 1992 and meet the original Vega brother and the rest of his colorful crew in Reservoir Dogs.

Four years ago (almost to the day!), Mike, Chris and Dave discussed one of their favorite movies of all time - JAWS - but they never were quite satisfied with that discussion (maybe because part of the show had Dave talking from his car). So today, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this classic film - the boys are back in the water with a sequel to the original podcast, that includes a special guest as our fourth hose - and we promise it's better than the of the sequels to this movie. Let's do it again for the 60th!

All aboard movie fans! Your favorites are back as Chris, Mikey and Dave ride the rails with a bunch of zombies as they discuss the 2016 South Korean horror film, Train to Busan. For the first time ever, Fine Movies. Fine Spirits is discussing the current, most recent Academy Award winner for best picture as Mikey, Chris, and Dave discuss the movie that we very well may look back on someday as a launching point for a few people to have big careers - Anora. And this movie was such a big deal, the trio couldn't do it alone - so they called in the unofficial fourth member of the pod as Chris' baby brother Greg joins the show again! And he did his best to keep it PG while he recorded in a room surrounded by family. He learned that from Dave.

Okay, mutherf***ers! The boys are finally back with their latest episode as Chris, Dave and Mikey discuss their first Michael Mann movie - the first time De Niro and Pacino share the screen - from 1995 - Heat! So listen. Now. Do not hesitate. Not for a second.

“Rex Reed calls it ‘A rip-roaring good time for the whole family….” What? We thought maybe we’d trick some people into thinking we were talking about a light-hearted, delightful comedy. Did it work? For the rest of you, Dave, Mikey and Chris talk about the emotional rollercoaster that is the 2016 Casey Affleck award-winning movie, Manchester by the Sea. Were there any laughs in this movie? Of course there were – but they were evenly spaced amongst the tragedy (and amazing performances all around!) This episode is a special one. It was supposed to be extra special with Chris, Dave, and Mikey welcoming Mikey's big brother Shaun (first time podcaster and two time blogger) so that Dave and Shaun could reminisce about their first time seeing 1998's There's Something About Mary in the theater together. Dave was even going to be podcasting from Las Vegas, where he was for work. David forgot about time zones. So, Shaun is here - and David isn't. And wouldn't you know, editing the show was a lot easier for Mikey this time. Wonder why....

And if any of you went to New Year’s Eve parties and celebrated with your friends – I can most likely guarantee that you didn’t come close the folks partying in our first movie of the new year, the 2022 Damien Chazelle epic love letter to the Golden Age of Hollywood, Babylon! And now you can find us on BlueSky!

Merry Christmas one and all! Last night, Chris, Dave and Mikey did a LIVE watch along of “It’s A Wonderful Life” revisiting the movie that started it all for this podcast.
