Kaya FM - live

Kaya FM is a South African radio station designed to reflect the urban life of black listeners from ages 25 to 49. It defines its public as Afropolitan, composed of individuals who are self-assured, mature, sophisticated, and socially conscious, and who are looking to be well informed and to engage as players in a global environment.

Its line-up combines 60% of music with 40% of talk, making it unique among other ICASA approved licenses. It provides news and sports reports and well as programmes dealing with the driving issues of society. Its music format is predominantly focused on genres such as Jazz, Soul, R&B, World Music and African Indigenous music.

Kaya FM also frequently launches competitions and fun challenges, such as the 10 Second Challenge, providing opportunities for its team of DJs and presenters to engage directly with listeners in a light way. 

This radio station broadcasts using the frequency 95.9 FM from Johannesburg, Gauteng and it offers an online live stream on its website to provide access to its broadcast to listeners outside South Africa. The podcasts of its most popular shows are also featured on its webpage.
